2024 Goals

Here's some things I want to accomplish in 2024!
  1. Explore [City I’m living in for the next 4 months]
  2. Write + post “damn, baby, you’ve got me good” (series of klance 5+1 fics I’ve been working on)
  3. Tat (lacemaking tecnique) a necklace
  4. Do more sourdough (pancakes, bagels, pretzels)
  5. Finish my temperature blanket
  6. Bind more of “The Blonde Collection” (my project to bind my favorite works by leblonde)
  7. Write (at least part of) “it takes three to play catan” (working title for my giant Keith/Lance/Hunk fic)
  8. Organize something
  9. Read 75 books
  10. Curate a more positive internet experience

Exploring, creating, baking, and more :D I really appreciate #10. It's something I think about a lot. Best of luck with your goals! :)

I'm a big fan of wild yeast. Someone brought loaves to a potluck that were cultured from wild grape skins and such.

You will get the most far-out results by starting with less-common methods, such as putting a bit of mashed fruit in your starter or using anything other than wheat flour. Different yeasts like to eat different things. Also it's like Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bread. :D You will get the occasional Eau de Old Socks and What Died Here? But you will also get flowers, chocolate, malt, vanilla -- countless wild and glorious things from yeast friends who haven't sat down to bake with a human friend in 6,000 years.

If you're at the "Do more" stage in your sourdough journey, then I heartily encourage you to make some new yeast friends from the wild. These baked goods can be worthy of a charcuterie board.

>>Finish my temperature blanket<<

Oh yay! I've seen pictures of those, and I wrote a poem about the technique.

>> Organize something<<

LOL yes, that's one of mine too.

>> Curate a more positive internet experience<<

I created the Good News and Cuddle Party entries in the Wednesday rotation of my recurring posts. Feel free to copy or modify those for your own needs; several people have.

Other recurring posts include many suitable items for this goal, such as

[community profile] awesomeers does a Just One Thing post daily to share in each other's accomplishments. Anything counts. [community profile] 3_good_things_a_day makes a daily gather post where you can comment with your own three things.
